Some FAQs from Progresif Cellular

Question: What will happen to my present postpaid service?

Answer: Your postpaid account will remain uninterrupted and will be automatically transferred from B-Mobile to Progresif Cellular (PCSB), effective July 1,2014.However, there will be some slight changes that need to take place with your regular payment procedure beginning July 1st – this varies from bank to bank.Beginning July 1, 2014, you will no longer be able to make any bill payments to the B-Mobile account. This includes payments via automated teller machines (ATMs), over-the-counter deposits and internet banking. You may continue to make bill payments to the newly established Progresif Cellular account via the same methods mentioned above i.e. ATM, over the counter and internet banking.

For details on what you need to do to make the change, please go to our new website at www.progresifcellular.com.bn,or to your bank’s website, where you will see a step-by-step guide. If you need any clarification or further information, you may also send your query to contact(8)progresifcellular.com.bn.

Question: What will happen to my prepaid service?

Answer: You will still be able to buy and use B-Mobile prepaid top-up cards from your regular outlets. Nothing has changed. At the end of July, you will be able to buy Progresif Cellular or PCSB top-up cards, but for now, the B- Mobile cards will still work as usual.

Question: What about our SIM cards. Do we need to change them and will there be a cost?

Answer: This will be an over-the-counter process, but you will have 6 months from July 1st to do it. This will apply to both prepaid and postpaid and there will be no charge. For corporate customers, we will be liaising directly with the administrator at your company.

Question: When will new Progresif Cellular (PCSB) top-up cards be launched?

Answer: They will be available at the end of July. Meanwhile, your existing ones will still work.

A fruitful visit by Zalora

Invited guests checking out the dresses from Jovian Mandagie at The Empire Hotel & Country Club

Late post: Ever heard of ZALORA? It’s a growing brand in Brunei though there’s no physical store that exists in Brunei because it’s an online brand. Do you know that ZALORA is increasing in growth in terms of sales from Brunei alone? Though it’s a small market compared to other regional countries but it is an important growing market said Luca Barberis, Director of ZALORA. He noticed the growth trend increased by 100% in the past few months and from there, the company believe that Brunei is an important market because many Bruneians buy Jovian Mandagie’s design wear for women.

The other reason why Bruneians love to shop at ZALORA because of the speedy delivery to their doorsteps. The items will be delivered within 3-4 days from Malaysia and you can even return the item should the dress or shoes you bought isn’t the correct size. Jovian Mandagie is known for their modern Baju Kurungs and Muslimah Dresses and the price ranges from RM 250.

Recently ZALORA made a showcase at The Empire Hotel & Country Club with the presence with the management and fashion icon celebrity Jovian Mandagie. The public had the opportunity to view the collection by Jovian Mandagie “Chantilly” which is inspired by the French city of Chantilly which is known for producing the finest lace.

The showcase was also an avenue for the newbies to get a feel of Jovian Mandagie products and they will be able to trust and appreciate the design and materials by Jovian Mandagie. So ladies, this is very ideal for upcoming Hari Raya and I have to say I’m impressed with the workmanship and the simplicity of the design and still looking elegant.

It was a honour also to meet the fashion designer himself, Jovian Mandagie, and I love his aura and charisma which makes him such an approachable celebrity. I also had interesting conversion with Giulio Xiloyannis, Managing Director of ZALORA Malaysia and Luca Barberis, Director of ZALORA Malaysia and Stacy Hui, PR Executive of ZALORA Malaysia.

Luca shared that many of their customers are surfing through mobile phones and making purchases from their devices. At least 30% of their customers buy ZALORA products online, either through ZALORA mobile site or ZALORA app. His team will further improve the user friendliness of their mobile based ZALORA to improve customer experience which will translate to more dollars and cents.

So do check out their website ZALORA and you can check the number of Jovian Mandagie’s dresses online and give it a shot or even download their mobile app on IOS and Android.

So what pizza are you? Recently the media and food bloggers were given a special treat to try out what Pizza Hut has to offer with their 26 enhanced pizzas. So what’s the difference? It’s chunkier for sure and mozzarella cheese is made to perfection with the combination of the special sauces and the type of crusts you desire.

You can try out the different tiers such as the Supremes or the Gourmet Series or your All-Time Favourite. As for the sauces, you can request for the Classic Pizza, Sweet and Spicy, Creamy Garli, Alfredo Cheese and Texas BBQ Sauce. As for the crusts, there are choices such as Golden Stuff, Cheesy Bites, Whole-Wheat Italian, Whole-Wheat Crispy Thin and all-time favourite Pan Pizza.

My favourite so far is the new “Spicy Garlic Chicken” which is an enhancement from the ever popular Honey Garlic Chicken Pizza. You should try it 😀

During Ramadhan, patrons can try all the 26 pizzas in different crusts in Pizza Hut’s Feast Buffet, which will be offered for Sungkai at only $10 per adult and $7 per child under the age of 10.

Can you imagine me devouring all of these to myself? 😀

Progresif Cellular makes its mark

Hj Abu Bakar Hj Ibrahim, Chairman of Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd (center) with Mozart Hj Ibrahim and Hjh Rena Azlina binti Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Aziz, directors of Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd and Ang Han Kee, Head of Network Management & Planning, Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd at the press conference yesterday at Radisson Hotel

The past is the past. Now it’s about moving forward. You may have heard or seen in the news about the new developments that B-Mobile Communications Sdn Bhd was going through a few months ago. A new company under the name of Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd will run the operations of B-Mobile Communications effective 1st July 2014. This would mean the name of B-Mobile won’t be used anymore and it will be known as Progresif Cellular from 1st of July 2014.

A press conference was held yesterday, led by the chairman of Progresif Cellular, Hj Abu Bakar Hj Ibrahim. Also present during the press conference were the board of directors of Progresif Cellular, Mozart Hj Ibrahim and Hjh Rena Azlina binti Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Aziz.

I believe the great news about the press conference is the assurance that B-Mobile will not ceased its operation. Instead the service will be sustained and the everyday operations will be under a new management of Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd. Acquiring an existing telco company is never an easy feat as they have to deal with many issues and paperwork. So it’s no surprise that the acquisition process took many months before it can be a successful one.

Hj Abu Bakar highlighted three important points which are important as their core values in achieving their vision as the most innovative mobile service provider in Brunei Darussalam. The first point he stated is the “People” which means the customers and their employees. It’s important to understand the needs and wants of customers and at the same time, it is important to train and develop the associates of Progresif Cellular so they can meet the demands of the customers in the best and most efficient ways possible.

The second point he shared was improving the network. This is no surprise that the existing subscribers of B-Mobile are experiencing inconsistent connectivity. He reassured that this issue will be put on a priority list and they have put on many countless hours in examining the problems that have been affecting the current network. Hj Abu Bakar hinted that the improvements of the network will be done in a gradual pace (in phases) and not instantly. I believe this is a great move by Progresif Cellular as I’ve seen telcos which focused too much on new services and products but forgetting the fundamental basics which is sustaining a good network.

The third point Hj Abu Bakar pointed out is building their brand. To me, it’s always important to create and make an impact, just by branding because it has a lasting impact and impression on consumers and that’s every entrepreneurs’ dream – to have a strong brand. From what I heard from the chairman’s speech is that the Progresif Cellular is very customer oriented and it wants to position itself to bridge that connection with its customers. Though this will take time to achieve such synergy and branding awareness to their customers, this is already a positive move by the company.

When asked about the 4G services, the chairman’s reply was simple – improve the existing network before upgrading their services and products. I’m quite excited what Progresif Cellular will be offering in the coming months and this will give a good competitive edge to their rival and of course, the winner here will be the consumers.

I’m also touched and honoured that the media was able to mingle with the chairman and the board of directors of Progresif Cellular after the press conference and this shows the trust they have on us and it’s also a good reflection of their vision and mission to create that relationship with their customers. In Brunei, it’s quite rare that we have an informal conversation during refreshments with directors of an organization. So I thank you for that opportunity and I’m sensing better things to come from Progresif Cellular.

April’s Fool

*LOL* My cheap thrill yesterday when I texted my friends that I was gonna pull the plug on blogging 😀 Love you guys.

My biggest disappointment

As I jogging pass the Adidas store at Pacific Plaza, Singapore earlier this morning, I was feeling devastated and heartbroken. I was so close yet so far. I missed the queue to get hold of the Adidas Flux Mulitcolour edition yesterday.

This pair was the most sought model among the Flux series. I can’t even buy on Adidas website as it stated “sold out”

The queue yesterday during the launch of the Flux series at Adidas store, Pacific Plaza. The queue started as early as 7:30am *sigh sigh*

This picture was taken the day before it was released and I thought I would have a great chance in owning a pair. Instead I ended up getting the other pairs of the printed Flux series. Boohoo

Maju Motors hosts

 Need For Speed

The big blockbuster this weekend – Need For Speed

It’s good to see Maju Motors (Volkswagen Brunei) creating activities for its customers from time to time. Previously they held a weekend carnival and also a meet-the-fan session for the DPMM FC players with the presentation of the grand lucky draw for the Volkswagen Jetta. This morning, Volkswagen Brunei invited its customers to The Mall Cineplex to enjoy a private screening of the much awaited Need for Speed movie which was premiered worldwide recently and more than 300 customers attended the private function catered just for them.

The Need for Speed movie, which saw its worldwide premiere just a few days back, showcases some of the world’s fastest cars like the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Koenigsegg Agera, Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, McLaren P1, Saleen S7, and a rare GTA Spano as well as the 2015 Ford Mustang GT and a heavily modified 2014 Mustang equipped with a wide-boy kit. Although there were no Volkswagen models featured, but brands like the Bugatti and the Lamborghini are both part of the Volkswagen Group.

The event was held to show gratitude to its customers and also to strengthen ties between the customers and their families along with Maju Motors‘ employees. “2014 is an important year for us. Changes will be made to better serve you and it will all be done to assure your (the customers) satisfaction“, said Maju Motors Sdn Bhd Executive Director, Chan Key Hong. He added, “We are doing this to give you a better ownership experience.“

This was said after an introduction clip which explained “Why only Volkswagen can build a Volkswagen“, which was then followed by a few international advertisements from all around the world which were funny, catchy and entertaining. After the adverts were played, the Need for Speed movie was then featured, which is the highlight of the event.

The customers invited during the exclusive movie screening consisted of those owning any Volkswagen models ranging from the entry-level Polo, its bigger brother the newly launched Vento, all the way to the luxury SUV, Touareg.

Also invited were Volkswagen owners from the local Volkswagen-Audi Group (VAG), who are some of Volkswagen’s strongest supporters and a true example of the Volkswagen culture, made of young professionals and car enthusiasts. They portray the spirit of togetherness, friendship and family traits, this is what Volkswagen is about.

Technology brings us closer

Rita Lim, Principal of Seri Mulia Sarjana International School, in her welcoming remarks

I stumbled across an article yesterday in the Weekend Bulletin as I read the news about Seri Mulia Sarjana International School (SMSIS) introducing their mobile apps exclusive for the SMSIS community. This mobile app is ideal for parents definitely who want to be up-to-date with the events and notifications from the said school. I believe this is the first school in Brunei that uses mobile apps and I won’t be surprise if other schools will follow suit as our society is very engaged when comes to mobile technology.

he school app is a one-stop portal for the parents of SMSIS that puts all school-related information at the parents’ fingertips. Forgotten circulars and missed school activities will now be a thing of the past as the school strives to build stronger parent–school relationship; a vital ingredient in assuring children’s success in school.

Datin Dr Hajah Asmah binti Haji Morni, Acting Director General of Education at the Ministry of Education, together with the founder of Seri Mulia Sarjana International School (SMSIS), Mary Lim were present during the launch. Parents were also invited for the launch of the mobile app.

Thumbs up to SMSIS for having this made possible. This is another useful tool to connect SMSIS with the parents of the students.

Chan Man Ching, Mariah Abdullah, Liyana Yus, Siti Kamaluddin and Fai Zaini (Team Brunei) at the Gala Premiere of Ikal Mayang 2014, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Late post: The voices through women are often unheard. It was interesting to know a film festival entitled “Ikal Mayang: Unspoken Truths” was showcased last weekend in Malaysia. It raises the awareness and sharing the women’s voices through filmmaking to reveal “Unspoken Truths”.

Ikal Mayang 2014 organised a 2-day festival at the Golden Screen Cinemas, in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. The event comprised film screenings, arts installations and music performances in and around the venue.

The biggest highlight of the festival was the premiere of an anthology of six 11-minute short films directed by South East Asian directors which include our own Bruneian Siti Kamaluddin. The other directors are Niramon Ross (Thailand), Shireen Seno (the Philippines), A.D. Chan (Singapore), Nia Dinata (Indonesia) and Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba (Malaysia).

Apart from that, the film festival showcased ten 2-minute clips featuring original stories by local Malaysian personalities and most of them are making their directorial debuts.

Low Ngai Yuen, President of WOMEN:girls, wants to keep the conversation going after the success of the first Ikal Mayang. She hopes that the 2 minute films will give more exposure to the directors regionally, showcasing a more diverse stories and this will also encourage younger directors to take on the challenge.

The line-up of directors for Ikal Mayang: Unspoken Truths include a wide range of women and girls from all ages and backgrounds such as Eja (also known as Siti Shahrizah), Elza Irdalynna, Ineza Roussille, Nora Nabila, Soefira Jaafar, Deborah Henry, Leia Aljoffery, Sharyn Lisa Shufiyan, Junad M. Nor and Melissa Indot; who will be helming their films with the support of Creative Director, Ida Nerina and Executive Producer, Lee Su May. The scripts selected were from a call for submissions from the public held early August 2013.

Ikal Mayang is an initiative under WOMEN:girls produced by Garang Pictures & big EyEs Entertainment to increase the share of women’s voices through filmmaking and screened in conjunction with the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8 every year. WOMEN:girls is a non-profit organisation set to create an ideal world where women are empowered to be enablers for aspiring girls to achieve their dreams.

I’m trying to get hold of Siti Kamaluddin short film entitled “Mentari” which features a rising star Liyana Yus who was recently filmed in the upcoming movie called Yasmine, another film directed by Siti Kamaluddin.
