Bruneians at the airport before flying off to Singapore for the Sundown Marathon last weekend
Six Bruneian members of the Marathoner Enthusiast Team (Brunei MET) were among the 10,000 participants who completed yesterday the 21-km-race in the Sundown Marathon 2012 held in Singapore, according to the Polytechnic Brunei.
The event started at 12.30pm yester-day from the Nicoll Highway. The Brunei MET completed in their best ever timing of less than three hours and received their 21-km finisher medal. Among in the team members was Johari, Brunei Polytechnic Marathon Club President.
“I would like to see more students taking part in the future marathon event. Running is an easy sport. You don’t need to build a running track and you can run on your own and in your own time,” he said. Amalina, Bibi and Julia said, “Prior to the marathon, we received a personal Crossfit training from our personal instructor. It really helped us in the run.”

Relentless Entertainment dancers were crowned champions in Miri Open Dance 2012
I love to watch dance performances. We recently had a few in Brunei a few years ago and it’s pretty tough to have one with the presence of MIB in Brunei Darussalam lately. But I’m still happy that the local talents still pursue in their passion and their hardwork and dedication paid especially to Relentlent Entertainment Dancers.
The event is called the Miri Open Dance 2012, Hot Dance Competition. Held on the 27th of May, 2012 at the Miri Indoor Stadium. Organised by Kung Siong Association Miri and supported by The Miri City Council and Vertex New Media.

Amy Cheong quote – “We trained for 2 weeks solid. Out of the 19 teams, Relentless performed 10th. Straight after our performance we were all relieved that it was over and thankful that we had had the opportunity to perform to such a huge and supportive crowd of people.
We really didn’t expect to win because some of the other teams were amazing. But, we are happy that we won and we are proud to have represented Brunei in such a huge event and look forward to representing Brunei in more dance competitions abroad.” Images courtesy of Relentless Entertainment.
