#TheRaid2
I can’t wait for this movie
Two big movies that I look forward to are Captain America: Winter Soldier and The Raid 2: Berandal. But of course, for me, personally will be sequel of The Raid which have been receiving rave reviews after the early screening at the Sundance Film Festival 2014. I have been following the updates on Rottentomatoes and movie news on The Raid 2: Berandal and it just gives me more crave to catch it. The U.S. official release will be next weekend. However, it remains to be seen if Brunei will be showing it just yet at the same given time. Furthermore, Brunei will be focusing more on another certain blockbuster, Captain America: Winter Soldier, which has an earlier release than the U.S.
The sequel of The Raid 2: Berandal has a high score on Rottentomatoes 95% which received 21 fresh and only 1 rotten. Not many sequels can perform such better scores but Gareth Evans the director for both movies somehow managed to bring the series to another different level. Travis Hopson of Examiner.com said the action sequences are simply unreal; bigger, faster and more lethal than in The Raid. Cameroon Williams of The Popcorn Junkie praised it as “the new centre of the a** kicking universe”. Chris Bumbray of JoBlo’s Movie Emporium expressed that this is “the best action sequel since Terminator 2 and contains some of the most gripping action sequences ever shot.
So there you go.. My ongoing rant on The Raid 2: Berandal and I do hope the local cinema operators bring the sequel to Brunei. I will be flying to Singapore soon and I do hope it will be shown there too. Below are some of the trailers from The Raid 2: Berandal. If you haven’t caught the first movie The Raid: Redemption, I suggest you better do. It was my second top movie of 2012 just after The Cabin in the Woods.

Media briefing yesterday at the Energy Division at the Prime Minister’s Office
It’s happening on starting Monday at the BRIDEX Exhibition Centre and it is organized by the Energy Department at the Prime Minister’s Office. The theme for this year is ‘Sustainable Energy for Brunei Darussalam Prosperity’, Energy Week 2014 which aims to promote awareness among the community about the importance of energy sources, and the need to conserve them. Yesterday I attended the media briefing on what to expect for Energy Week 2014.
The organizer urged the public especially job seekers to attend the event as it will be a total of 5 days (the longest exhibition event being hosted so far) and there are many job opportunities up for grabs as well in the oil & gas industry. The interesting new opportunity is the Brunei Maritime Academy and they are also looking for new intakes. Hence this will be the best time to be part of the team and they will have a booth and exhibition for the youths to find out more about maritime opportunities. I can assure you that it will be a great experience.
I shall spare more details about Energy Week later today. For now, you can surf their official website here and mark your dates of Energy Week 2014 (24th March to 29th March 2014).
