Appreciation Ceremony For MINDEF Sports Contingent

SERASA, Friday, 04 Mac2011 – About 200 officers and staffs including Athletes, Sports Manager and sports committee members from the Ministry of Defence were celebrated this afternoon as a token of appreciation for their support and participation during the Inter-Ministry Sports Festival in conjunction with the 17th Civil Service Day, 2010 held from 22nd – 29th January 2010 where the Ministry of Defence emerged as the overall champion of the annual tournament, acquiring 11 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.

The ceremony which was held at the RBAF Water Sport Centre, Jalan Pantai Serasa began with the mass recital of Surah Al-Fatihah headed by the Senior Religious Officer Ministry of Defence and followed by a speech by Chairman of the event.

An appreciation speech was also delivered by the Deputy Minister of Defence where he later presented certificates of appreciation to all participants.

The event was highlighted with the presentation of the champion trophy to the Guest of Honour followed by a group photo session to mark the end of the ceremony.

Present during the ceremony were the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Permanent Secretaries of Defence, Deputy Permanent Secretaries of Defence, Services Commanders and Commandant, Directors, Officers and staff members of the Ministry of Defence.

SERASA, JUMAAT, 4 MAC 2011– Seramai lebih 200 pegawai dan kakitangan Kementerian Pertahanan termasuk peserta, pengurus dan jawatan kuasa sukan telah diraikan pada petang ini sebagai penghargaan di atas sumbangan dan penyertaan mereka di dalam acara Pesta Sukan Kementerian-Kementerian sempena Hari Perkhidmatan Awam yang ke-17, 2010 yang berlangsung pada 22 hingga 29 Januari 2011 dimana kontinjen Sukan Kementerian Pertahanan telah menjadi johan didalam perlawanan tahunan tersebut dengan mengutip 11 pingat emas, 7 pingat perak dan 6 pingat gangsa.

Majlis yang berlangsung di Pusat Sukan Air, Jalan Pantai Serasa tersebut dimulakan dengan bacaan surah Al-Fatihah yang dipimpin oleh Pegawai Ugama Kanan, Kementerian Pertahanan dan seterusnya ucapan alu-aluan daripada pengerusi majlis.

Ucapan perhargaan daripada Tetamu Kehormat juga disampaikan oleh Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan  dan seterusnya beliau menyampaikan sijil-sijil penghargaan kepada semua para peserta.

Kemuncak majlis telah diserikan dengan penyerahan piala kejuaraan kepada Tetamu Kehormat dan diakhiri dengan sesi bergambar ramai.

Turut hadir Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap, Timbalan Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap, Pemerintah-Pemerintah dan Komandan Tentera, Pengarah-Pengarah Awam/Tentera, pegawai-pegawai serta kakitangan Kementerian Pertahanan.
