MASwings to fly to Brunei Feb 2012
The press release hasn’t come from any of the MAS Wings representatives from Brunei but this was already announced in Kota Kinabalu that MASwings will be expanding its services into Brunei as part of the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) initiative.
This means that MASwings will fly to Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. So when is this actually? According to The Borneo Post article dated 17th December 2011, MASwings Managing Director Datuk Capt. Mohd Nawawi quoted that direct air links would kick off on 1st February 2012. This is super good news for frequent travelers to KK and Kuching.
All the flights would be operated using MASwing’s ATR72-500 aircrafts which can seat about 73 passengers each *yea smaller planes* As for the KK route, it will be flying twice daily and for Kuching route, it will be flown three times a week.
For your info, MASwings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines Systems Bhd (MAS), currently serves Sabah and Sarawak. We shall wait for the other press release from MAS (Brunei office) for more details. But for now, it’s official that MASwings will be flying to Brunei though the website hasn’t included Brunei for booking purposes. Hopefully it will be the case come January 2012.

Nan Sy, former Ambassador to Cambodia to Brunei has been charged for embezzlement. Image taken from khmerization.blogspot.com
Man, he really looked innocent *lol* I always bumped into him in functions though we were never properly acquainted. He finished his term in May 2011 this year and now he is a fugitive *oh my*
Apparently Nan Sy, the former ambassador to Brunei, has been charged wih breach of trust and exploiting state money in a civil case last Friday, 23rd December 2011.
So what did he do anyway? He was in charge of overseeing the construction of the Cambodian embassy in Brunei in 2008. Cambodia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was given unpaid bill by a construction company despite forking out periodic payments to Nan Sy to cover the construction costs.
I’ve never expected of this kind of story coming from this guy. Sometimes looking naive can be deceiving, right? Apparently he embezzled more than $555,762 (USD 430,000) from the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

For your info, it weren’t the Philippines national that found the body. It was one of my friends who are regular surfers at Tungku Beach and they were three of them who brought the body to the shore and there was no boat too as stated in The Brunei Times. By the way, my friend advised to stay away from the beach as waves are quite high during the monsoon season
It’s the bonus period so why not catch this special offer from Sin Hup Huat
So peeps… Do spend your bonuses wisely. How I wish I do have bonuses for myself too. My boss being a b***h lately *lol*
