Back to reality
Coming to you this August. Registration ends on 17th July 2016. Don’t forget to register [Click image to enter]
Are you ready for an awesome gimmick run? After two months of break, running events are back!! Perhaps this race is something more exciting than previous runs that have been organised. This is because of the items that runners are expected to receive as part of their race pack. The items themselves look very collectible especially the medals and even their running attire where a top and a sock will be given depending on your choice of superhero.
Apart from that, you can also pre-order merchandise of Batman V Superman which are available on their main website such as mugs, watch, t-shirts and many more. Hence, I would say there is a lot of thought being put into this racing event.
The closing date of the registration will be on the 17th July 2016 as well as the payment for the Batman V Superman Brunei Darussalam Run. As for the running event itself, it will take place on 21st August 2016 at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre. Click here to go to the official website and register there.
The event is organised by Heroes Brunei (under Armtrix Enterprise) and it’s supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. All the best and I’m pretty sure there will be a good turn of this event.
The top for Superman
The top for Batman
The top for Wonder Woman
One of the socks (Batman)
There will be medals given to all categories. This is a sample for the 3.8 km run
Certificates to all the registrants
After a long holiday, it’s back to reality. Yes, even blogging is considered a job for me and I have quite a few pending jobs to finish off apart from my updating my work online. I’m not even a big fan of paperworks but I need to get the job done or I won’t get paid *lol*
So how has your Hari Raya been? I have continued my newer tradition – to spend more time doing my own things and be selective on open houses. This practice has been on going for the past three years and I’m getting the hang of it. So how many houses have I been in the past five days? I would say 6-7 houses which is quite reasonable to my liking. There were three new places that I’ve never been to (Yani, Heidi and Dr. Sophia) and I’m glad for dropping by.
Actually during Hari Raya, it was also the best time to catch movies since there were lesser traffic congestions and parking was easier to find too. However, the movies during those times were totally disappointing (Ice Age 6/10, The Legend of Tarzan 6/10, Alice through the Looking Glass 6/10). Yes, I’m just appalled by the summer movies of 2016 and even my summer box office prediction in terms of earnings haven’t been spot on. I hope for July/August movies to make up for mediocre line-up of May and June movies.
I need to readjust my sleeping pattern thanks to fasting and also Euro 2016. My sleeping average time has been in the range of 5am to 6am which is not healthy, considering I wake up around 11am or earlier. Speaking of Euro 2016, what a shocker result to see Portugal coming off as champions. They were fortunate to get pass the group stage with three draws and no wins and slowly snuck in to the finals where they beat the host nation France 1-0 in extra time. To top that, Portugal have lost all their 10 meetings against France so that odds were heavily against them. Good for Ronaldo and his team who played their hearts out in the finals.
Yesterday was also my first work out session in a long time. When I say work out, it means tennis 😀 Woohoo.. I was happy to be back on the court and thanks to my tennis buddies, Ming Rui, Sin Yi and Hong Ming for the rally. I’m still bummed that Roger Federer failed to capitalise on Djokovic’s exit in Wimbledon. But hats off to Andy Murray for winning his second Wimbledon after finishing off Raonic in straight sets.
I shall be back this week and updating more stories. Don’t forget to follow my social media updates on Snapchat and instagram. Enjoy your week and Selamat Hari Raya.
Yes, it’s good to be back on the tennis courts. I’ve missed playing tennis to the max.
Bumped into Soon Loo, CEO of Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) recently at one of the open houses. We shall catch up soon 😀

Venus Chong to share her views on the negative implications of the Internet
Venus Chong. At 17 years old, shehas already had her fair share of experience in public speaking. Her journey started back in her old high school, STPRI, when she was in Year 8. She has been an emcee for assemblies, joined the National Debate Competition and the National English Language Oratory Competition (BELTA). Entering Maktab Duli did not stop her achievements. She became a part of the winning Upper Team in the Upper Level National Debate Competition. Soon after, she was elected as President.
Venus considers herself outspoken and very opinionated. She’ll be sharing with us how the Internet has amplified the narcissist in all of us. She believes that there lies a narcissist in each and every one of us, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Venus plans to make us realize, accept and love ourselves a little bit more.
Ahmad Syauqie will share his thoughts on cyber bullying
Ahmad Syauqie. He started out experiencing bad stage frights until in 2012, his interest in public speaking was peaked with the encouragement of a teacher. He won 3rd place in the National English Language Oratory Competition (BELTA) and later helped the next BELTA representatives and his peers in their science presentation.
Public speaking isn’t the only thing, however, that caught Syauqie’s attention. He realized that cyber bullying is growing to be an increasing problem in our society. The effects it has on each individual are left in the dark, therefore he aims to shed light on this situation. He hopes people would channel the kindness within and use technology for the greater good. Let him tell you how.
Only a few tickets left for Gold and Silver seats. Do call the number to see if there are still available.

What are the chances of having two separate fire incidents happening in a space of two days? This happened two days ago at RIPAS hospital when a fire broke out at the Cardiology Centre and the fire caused damages to 12 treatment rooms. Fortunately there were no report of injuries or casualties so that’s a huge relief for everyone. A big kudos to the Fire and Rescue Department for bringing the fire under control within half an hour before it could get out of hand.
According to the press statement from The Brunei Times, The Ministry of Health said the fire did not affect the Specialist Block and all in-patient or ward services at the hospital, which opened in 1984.
I was aware of the incident as it was spreading on social media especially on Whatsapp. Yes, news in Brunei is pretty viral right now and the headline pictures that were used on The Brunei Times and Borneo Bulletin were identical and taken from Whatsapp.
Present during the examination of the site was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman, in his capacity as the Acting Minister of Health.
We are still unsure what sparked the fire at the Cardiology Centre but let’s hope the investigation will sort out that matter. What is important is that no one was hurt during the incident.

So what pizza are you? Recently the media and food bloggers were given a special treat to try out what Pizza Hut has to offer with their 26 enhanced pizzas. So what’s the difference? It’s chunkier for sure and mozzarella cheese is made to perfection with the combination of the special sauces and the type of crusts you desire.
You can try out the different tiers such as the Supremes or the Gourmet Series or your All-Time Favourite. As for the sauces, you can request for the Classic Pizza, Sweet and Spicy, Creamy Garli, Alfredo Cheese and Texas BBQ Sauce. As for the crusts, there are choices such as Golden Stuff, Cheesy Bites, Whole-Wheat Italian, Whole-Wheat Crispy Thin and all-time favourite Pan Pizza.
My favourite so far is the new “Spicy Garlic Chicken” which is an enhancement from the ever popular Honey Garlic Chicken Pizza. You should try it 😀
During Ramadhan, patrons can try all the 26 pizzas in different crusts in Pizza Hut’s Feast Buffet, which will be offered for Sungkai at only $10 per adult and $7 per child under the age of 10.
Can you imagine me devouring all of these to myself? 😀

Check out the latest podcast of the Dugout Treble with co-host Jason Rumpun and producer Abu
I’m qute disappointed so far with Brazil. Yes, the host nation as they were pushed to the brink against Chile last night. Being the host nation, this is a very disappointing display by Brazil and if they were to have the same performance like last night, they won’t stand a chance against Colombia who beat Uruguay 2-0. Chile was pretty close from snatching the victory if it wasn’t for the bar that saved the blushes of Brazil from an excellent Pinilla’s strike near the end.
Probably the worrying factor are the strikers at Brazil’s disposal – Jo and Fred who haven’t yet to impress in the tournament and further more, Hulk was just showing his brilliance on the pitch after a lackluster performance in the first three matches. I don’t see Brazil heading as far to the finals with France and Germany also breathing down their necks.
Now Colombia is one team that many have not taken account for. They are a compact team with many creativity in attack with the likes of star player James Rodriguez, and Juan Cuadrado and they even topped the group stage with 9 points. Though the group stage didn’t possess much threat, they shone where other competent teams failed to when going against weaker opponents. I can see Colombia reaching the semi-finals but it will be a harder test either against France or Germany if one of them reaches the semis.
Of course, the biggest news that have faded away is the banning of Luiz Suarez for his biting incident in the Uruguay-Italy match. I believe the suspension given to him by FIFA is still kinda lenient considering the fact that this is the third time Suarez has been fined and suspended for similar incidents. As a Liverpool player, I am disappointed and this shows old habits die hard. I’m not sure what’s the future lies now for Luis Suarez and Liverpool.
So who are my picks for the rest? Germany to win, France to win, Netherlands to beat Mexico, Costa Rica to go through, Argentina to beat Swiss while Belgium will edge USA.
Chiellini bitten by the ever hungry Suarez
Suarez claims that he lost his balance *Yea right*
Neymar might need his other 10 to show up
James Rodriguez was simply awesome and he has now scored 5 goals
The most animated coach on the pitch – Miguel Herrara and he is one of the lowest paid coach
The expensive flops – Cesare Prandelli, Coach of Italy, Fabio Capello of Russia and Roy Hodgson of England – the top three highest paid coaches that failed to bring the team past the group stage
Do check out the new Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology at Brunei Shell Marketing booth at Plenary Hall. The new product will be in the market by July I believe and BSM will be having a special promotion on their existing products soon.
