The Mercedes-Benz GLE continues to set new standards as a premium SUV. The changes in the model update mainly concern the design of the exterior and interior, the telematics, drive systems and equipment logic. In the exterior, the front and rear design has been updated for an even more striking, modern appearance In addition to technical updates, the interior also features new design features for the cockpit.  The highlights include, for example: the diamond grille with integrated Mercedes star and Mercedes-Benz pattern in chrome, the AMG-specific front and rear apron with AMG side sills in body colour, AMG-specific air outlets, front and rear wing flares and visually impressive AMG light-alloy wheels.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC updatemodel’s improved power and torque of the engine combines superior driving performance with the pleasant smoothness of a 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine.. The integrated second-generation starter-generator (ISG2) has an electrical output of up to 17 kW and supplies energy for the 48 V onboard network. 

With the Chrome package you can show that elegance is important to you. This enhancement with selected design features lends the standard interior specific additional highlights: numerous surrounds are finished in stylish silver chrome. This lends a higher-quality ambience to your interior.

With the fader and balance function, you can distribute the sound more to the front, rear or equally to all seats – or focus the listening experience in a seat row of your choice with the Sound Focus function.

The GLE remains at the forefront of premium SUVs. To this end, it is constantly being optimised and is full of innovations – the MBUX multimedia system of the NTG7 generation.   The Widescreen Cockpit enables information to be truly experienced. Display cluster comprising fully digital colour displays in a flatscreen look, each with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels.  The desired content can be positioned individually and the host of functions controlled intuitively thanks to touch technology. 

The multifunction steering wheel in nappa leather combines fine materials with innovative ease of operation via the Touch Control panels. You operate the key vehicle functions without having to take your hands off the steering wheel.

For the Transparent Bonnet camera view, your vehicle assembles the images from the front camera and the two exterior mirror cameras. A virtual lane is added to this view, based on your steering angle. You can see the result on the central display. This way, you have an exact view of the route and can react in time if necessary. Visualisation pays off not only in the case of obstacles such as scree or boulders, but also in challenging terrain: you can thus better assess crests, slopes and hollows if they are not visible through the windscreen due to an angle that is too steep.

Tommy was born in London and began his career with Mercedes-Benz UK under the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Apprenticeship program. Once qualified he continued as a Technician at Mercedes-Benz Heathrow, culminating nine years Retail experience. 

He was then relocated to Singapore with Daimler South East Asia Pte. Ltd. and thereafter Kuala Lumpur with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., totaling four years as a “Flying Doctor” – providing Mercedes-Benz technical support to the South East Asian region. Tommy then assumed a leadership role within Mercedes-Benz, leading the newly formed Regional Technical Support team for a further four years. During this period in Asia, he was responsible for providing support to Jati Transport, amongst other markets.

Tommy was then reposted to Lisbon with Mercedes-Benz Portugal at the Network Assistance Centre as Technical Operations and Key Account Manager, which provides technical support for fifteen European countries, including the UK, France, Switzerland and Austria markets to name a few. 

With nineteen years of direct Mercedes-Benz experience under his belt, Tommy will work closely with local Technicians and the Customer Service team to provide expert technical advice and outstanding customer service. In turn, his vast expertise will contribute to opportunities for talent development.

Jati Transport Sdn Bhd Sales Manager Mr Ho Ley Hoon was present to flag off the AMG convoy departure.

According to Mr Ho, the convoy activity is one of the ways Jati Transport can further strengthen their bonds with their customers in a casual setting whilst showing them appreciation for their loyalty to and support of the Mercedes brand.

Participants also took the opportunity to carry out a group photo session at the Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge. Completing the trip, the AMG convoy headed back to the showroom for a free flow of lunch courtesy of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Excapade Sushi.
