Yesterday marked a new milestone for Concepts Computer. Though we have seen D-Link products before in the local market, it never had an authorised distributor in the country.

Hence it was the first time for Brunei to recognized as a distributor and partnered with Concepts Computer as their distributor. Brunei became the last country in the ASEAN to have a local distributor. It was the hard work of Vincent Pao, General Manager of Concepts Computer, to make this journey possible and he was very thankful to Mr. Jacky Chang, the President of D-Link International for believing in Concepts Computer to be the authorized distributor for Brunei market.

The signing ceremony between Concepts Computer and D-Link International took place at the conference room at Concepts Computer. It was signed between Vincent Pao and Jacky Chang. Also present to witness the signing ceremony were William Lin, a representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Darussalam and Alice Chan, the Financial Controller for Concepts Group of Companies.

This event was followed by speeches from Vincent Pao, William Lin and Jack Chang.

The signing begins for a new journey for Bilster Technologies

Brother International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a leader in consumer and business IT products and solutions that focuses on the “Customer-First” approach, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bilster Technologies (Brunei) this morning. As you know, Bilster Technologies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Concept Group of Companies.

The MoU is a big milestone for Bilster Technologies as they become the only company to bring in the Brother brand to Brunei. Previously Concept Group of Companies have been involved with the service side of Brother and it’s no surprise that Brother has appointed Bilster Technologies (under the flagship of Concept Group of Companies) to be the authorized distributor for Brunei.

The MoU marks the commitment for both organizations towards a growing market as well as brand acceptance where Brother will be the brand of choice not only among home users but also to SMEs and businesses as well.

It was also Itsuo Segawa’s (Country Head at Brother International Malaysia Sdn Bhd) first visit to Brunei Darussalam and he believes this MOU is a stepping stone for a long term relationship with Bilster Technologies. Segawa shared how consumers and businesses are now looking for user-friendly, cost-efficient solutions with outstanding quality and Brother will listen to their needs and wants. This is Brother’s strength and what differentiate them from other brands.

Yesterday Concepts Technologies organised a Distributor Bootcamp for the resellers in Brunei, with the theme to empower the partners to be more efficient in dealing with cloud. I’ve learnt something new along the way and it’s Microsoft Azure – which can be a “Platform as a Service” (Paas) or even “Infrastructure as a Service” (IaaS). The bootcamp also introduced new licensing updates on Windows Server 2016 and System Centre 2016.

The event took place at the Brilliance Hall at Concepts Computer and Afif Mohamed Ali, Country Manager of Microsoft Brunei gave his welcoming remarks to the audience to kick start the event. He took over Haniza Zakariya since August 2016 as the Country Manager of Microsoft Brunei.

Concepts Technologies emphasized that Microsoft Azure is a growing collection of integrated cloud services where developers and IT professionals build, deploy and manage applications through our global network of data centres.

Today, Epson, a top printer-maker for the last 10 years, with the help of Concepts Computer, will be launching the latest printers from Epson in Brunei, a multi-function A3 printer with a continuous ink tank system in the form of the Epson L1455; it can print, scan, copy and fax with a total print-out of up to 10,000 pages total, and in duplex mode as well, making the Epson L1455 perfect for SMEs and even large corporate offices.

With the launch, Epson and Concepts Computer will be expanding its market-leading range to offer even wider selections, allowing schools, businesses or professional users to choose the most suitable model for their needs and take business printing beyond ordinary volumes to an extraordinary amount of pages.

A3-sized printing provides users with more creative and flexible options for all business printing needs, and gives the ability to go beyond normal limits of A4-sized printing. A3 printing will also make it easier to print larger and clearer architectural plans, spreadsheets, diagrams and charts, bringing out maximum clarity and details in your print-outs, making it easier to submit official government submissions as the need arises. The new A3-sized Epson L1455 printer will be available for $1,318. It will utilize the standard Epson 644 colour inks but the Epson L1455 will also utilize the water resistant blank ink Epson 7741, which will make the black print outs be more versatile. Each of its colour consumables will be available for $10 per bottle for the Epson 664 series bottle inks, and $28 for the water resistant black Epson 7741 bottle ink; making the Epson L1455 one of the cheapest upkeep for any A3-sized printer available in the market and perfect for business use.

As you know that Epson has been a popular product and gaining more product awareness since it’s inception in the Brunei market in 2010. This has been the popular choice among students and businesses due to its cost effective measures and also its quality. I also learnt from today’s sharing that Epson invested heavily in R&D to further embed new technology into Epson products. It’s no surprise that Epson is among the Top 10 in Japan for its patent and registration.
