Officially unveiling the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e was Radin Sufri Radin Basiuni, Acting CEO of DST as the Guest of Honour accompanied by Juliana Sim, General Manager of DSTIncomm last weekend

Last weekend reported high sales since the release of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Prima 4G phone plans last Saturday 9th March, at selected DST branches and all DSTIncomm stores and guess who was one of them buyers? Meeeee……..

Farah Saiman was one of the first few early customers to register for the Samsung Galaxy S10+ phone plan. When asked about why she chose a DST 4G phone plan she comments, “I’m always loyal to brands that I know will offer the best services. I’ve been with DST for a long time and their 4G plans have always been affordable. I’m very keen to stick with DST because they always make an effort to give subscribers more value for their money, like increasing in our monthly data bundles. I’m glad that they’re offering Samsung models as part of their package as well, as I’m also a fan of the brand. Also, since DSTIncomm is the authorized distributor for Samsung, I know I can trust DST and DSTIncomm when it comes to support services both for my phone plan and for the phone itself”.

Khaliq Roziman was another customer who braved the switch between phone brands while subscribing to DST’s 4G phone plan. He comments, “I needed a new phone and I’ve never used a Samsung phone before. I heard so many positive reviews over the past few weeks about the Samsung Galaxy S10 and it has some really cool features so I got excited when I heard DST was offering the phone plan. As a long time Easi prepaid user with DST, the Prima 4G phone plans are actually really affordable. I get more data for the same amount than when I’m on prepaid and I could pay a cheaper upfront as well for this amazing phone. Thanks DST.”

DSTIncomm, a retail subsidiary of DST, also reported high sales since its preorder release with more stock coming in this week due to high customer demand. DSTIncomm sells both boxsets and DST’s 4G phone plans.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a stunning new design, crystal clear screen, the world’s first ultra-sonic finger print scanner and super-sharp triple lens camera. Among other highlights include the wireless powershare giving S10 users the ability to share power with their friend’s device or charge a Samsung Bud at the same time.

Noorlelawati Haji Talip is the first customer who bought from Incomm. She also received extra goodies from Incomm for being the first customer.

Today saw the launch of the all-new powerful Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The launch took place at Incomm at Gadong outlet and enthusiasts made their way to the counter to collect their pre-orders online. The advantage for the pre-order customers is that they are able to enjoy a free upgrade to 512GB internal memory and an extended 3 months warranty (a total of 15 months warranty).

Among the pre-order customers were the Standard Chartered customers who enjoyed extra privilege where they were given BND 120 off the deal. Almost 100 SCB customers signed up for the deal and one of my friends said that it’s definitely the best deal in town and cheaper than regional countries.

Kudos to Incomm for the exciting pre-order promotion they had as they managed to secure more than 100 pre-orders.

So what’s the big fuss about the Samsung Galaxy Note 9? Let’s see what the specs are according to the website and marketing materials. It definitely has the biggest screen to date and what’s new is the stylus which now has a remote capability. As for capacity, it has the largest to date as well if you choose the 512GB edition. The standard one is 128GB. It has the biggest battery life too, 700mAh better than the previous model, beefing it up to 4,000mAh. That’s quite handy for a person like me, a high user of social media which technically drains the battery on my phone.

These are just some of the quick takeaways I can mention for now until I get to play around with the demo unit which will be arriving pretty soon in Brunei waters. Gone are the days when the Note 7 caught into trouble but now with the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, it has redeemed itself and ready to give a good challenge to the iPhone X which has been a huge success worldwide.

According to the reviews on certain websites, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is definitely the benchmark of all smartphones because of its battery life span and also its super high memory ram of 6 to 8G (amazing). The only thing now is for those with the Note 8 if they were to upgrade to a Note 9, would it make a huge difference? I do believe those who haven’t own a Note would definitely appreciate this powerful phablet.

The All-New Powerful Samsung Galaxy Note 9

The all-new powerful Note SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9, coming to Brunei soon

Big exciting news normally comes with there’s a new flagship model of either a Samsung or iPhone. Today, let’s talk about the latest edition to the Samsung family – the all-new powerful Note SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9.

Incomm has already announced it’s pre-order online on their website and there are already a buzz going around because of the cool deals they offer especially when you signed up with Standard Chartered credit card promo (EVEN BETTER deal). Well, more on that later. Let’s talk about the phone itself first.

Mind you, I am not a big fan of huge phones and the only Samsung phone I owned is the Galaxy Edge 7 and it was already a good smartphone for everyday use. Now comes an entirely big smartphone or I would label as phablet.

For me, the biggest selling point would be the battery life span and the storage (up to 1TB, 512GB internally and 512 external). Some would argue of the price tag but fret not because check out Incomm’s pre-order deal as well as what Standard Chartered has to offer for those who are hungry for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Read further below).

Beware of spam calls!!

Written by Rano Iskandar on . Posted in community, Social News

DST Headquarters, Tungku Link (21/6/2018) – DST is aware that many individuals in Brunei are currently being affected by an international affected hoax phone call scam originating from various operators, masked as genuine local numbers, some of which are active numbers.

When subscribers answer these calls, there is an automated message from a pre-recorded voice speaking in Chinese. In such a situation, DST active subscribers are either affected by receiving calls, or their numbers are being used by phone scammers to call other subscribers without their knowledge.

We are not alone as many other operators around the world are facing the same issue. DST has been working around the clock to address these issues to prevent such incidents.

In the meantime, we would also like to share some ways that may ease subscribers during this period.

1. Subscribers can choose to reject a call and await a response via SMS or text from the caller.

2. If a call is answered and it is a spam call, hang up immediately.

3. Do not call back a number which you suspect is a spam call.

4. Never provide important information to these scammers upon request.

By using these methods, you can better protect your information from these hackers.

We would like to thank our subscribers for assisting us in this investigation by providing us with updates on numbers being affected. Should you have further inquiries or would like to report such calls, you may either contact our DSTCare 151 or our visit any of your nearest DST Branches.

Following the wave of excitement since the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus bundle plans were launched one month ago, DST opened its doors to the public for the long-awaited iPhone X which was released together with DST’s bundled plans.

DST celebrated the launch by congratulating customers for their purchases of the iPhone X who patiently awaited the arrival of the iPhone X and the plans offered by DST. A consensus of eager customers who queued in line waited for the release of the plans despite offers elsewhere that offered pre-orders earlier than DST.

For the launch, DST gave the first 50 customers in the queue DST vouchers worth B$100 together with an iTunes gift card worth USD15 to take home. First 50 customers also received special access to the iPhone X Launch Lounge. All customers were also treated to special food and beverages from Little Gourmet, Gong Cha, Magnum and the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I was privileged to be among the Top 50 customers, being the 19th person in the queue. The first person was Ricky Chua.

DST also entertained customers hours before the launch by playing games and providing giveaways. There were around 5 iPhone X covers being given away with DST merchandise such as umbrellas. One of the prizes was the latest Apple TV for those who were queueing up.

In attendance to open the doors to welcome the first customers was Suhaimi Hussain, CEO of DST and Haji Marshad Bin Hj Ismail, Deputy CEO of DST.

The postpaid bundles of the iPhone X offers various monthly subscriptions and upfront payments. For example, an Apple iPhone X 64GB with a $938 upfront payment is bundled with an B$85 monthly subscription for 24 months and customers will receive 9GB local data.

The plans are launched exclusively at DST’s Airport Mall branch only.

Aside from postpaid plans, customers can choose based on their preference whether to purchase an iPhone without a contract.

DST is Apple’s certified carrier with the largest and most preferred 4G network nationwide.

The postpaid bundles on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus offers various monthly subscriptions and upfront payments. For example, an Apple iPhone 8 64GB with a $440 upfront payment is bundled with an B$85 monthly subscription for 24 months and customers will receive 9GB local data.

Rano’s thoughts: This morning I dropped by DST branch at the Airport Mall to check out the official launch of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus. We know that the prices will be competitive in the market and yes, DST is Apple’s certified carrier for Brunei market and you will be given a one-year warranty.

It’s a bit ironic that Brunei market is slower than our regional market where Singapore launched their their models in last month. The demand has not been as good as the iPhone X which was being launched today and the queue reminds me of the old days when the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 were released. Perhaps everyone is waiting for the iPhone X which will be launched worldwide.

Rumours has it that DST iPhone X will be likely launched during the DST Carnival – a fitting finale to the year 2017. I’m definitely eyeing on the iPhone X after not upgrading my phone for the past three years. I’m still using my iPhone 6 and with the new iPhone X, it will be worth the upgrade.

For now, you can enjoy DST’s plan and get yourself the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. You can get the iPhone 8 Plus 256GB for as low as $855 (depending on the contract). You can view the plans at iPhone.dst.com.bn for details.

I’m glad my friend Angel upgraded her phone from the 5s which is way older than my iPhone 6. So she definitely will feel the difference.
